Simon Sinks MSU Sports Program

Nobody should ever be sexually abused!

There's no excuse for it!

Former MSU president Lou Anna Simon has been arraigned in court.

The charge, 2 felonies and misdemeanors counts of lying to police during the Larry Nassar sexual abuse case.

Simon told police that she didn't know about the scandal. It was later revealed that she knew as far back as 2014.

Simon resigned in 2018 and MSU had to set up a 10 million dollar trust fund to reimburse his victims.

MSU also reached a 500 million dollar agreement with his victims. Why did she allow Nassar to pray on the gymnasts?

Nassar, a doctor associated with MSU and USA gymnastics was convicted of sexually abusing many young gymnasts including several Olympic medalists.

Nassar was also convicted of possessing child pornography and was sentenced to several years in prison.

Why wasn't the sexual assault allegations dealt with in the beginning. What does that say about MSU and their athletic programs?

Also why did the US gymnastics program allow him to treat the girls. Why weren't there safe guards in place to prevent this from ever happening? Does it mean that the safety of women doesn't matter to MSU or Team USA?

What happened to the women was horrific, disgusting. Even if Nassar spends the rest of his life in prison, it will never erase what happened to the brave women who came forward. They will eventually heal from it.

Colleges should have programs in place to deal with sexual abuse. They should have better background checks for coaches and staff dealing with women's sports.

They should have stiffer penalties and protocol so that it never happens again.

Maybe sexual violence in college sports can finally be eradicated.

No Treats, Just Tricked. Lions Trade Is A Terror

The Lions traded Golden Tate to the Eagles for a draft pick.

Is Bob Quinn idiotic, yep.

The team needs to be improved, but letting go of a good player is a stupid move.

It's like trading a washing machine for a rock to beat your clothes on.

When you keep trading solid players what do you get, a horrible team.
For years Lions fans have waited for a good team. Golden Tate was part of that dream.

We can't do that with bonehead trades like these.

Fans watch, attend games, root for their favorite players.

Fans are fickle. Disappoint us once, good luck ever getting us back.

And what about the other bad dcisions that were done.

Yes, the Lions screwed up when they fired Jim Caldwell. Was this a good move, nope.

Drastic decisions made in the middle of the season doesn't help the team. With decisions like these no wonder the Lions suck.

Maybe I'm wrong and maybe the Lions will come out alright. After all we still got Mathew Stafford as quarterback.

I hope that these decisions works out or the Lions are going to lose fans including me.

Do whatever it takes to get back to a winning season.

New Year, New Lions. Nope!

Good news, Lions beat Green Bay this week.

The bad news, the Lions didn't make the playoffs and fired their head coach Jim Caldwell.

A bag of rocks has more brains than Bob Quinn.

Here we go again, the Lions can't keep their act together.

While some see the firing as a step in the right direction, it's a step backwards.

Was firing him the answer or are there deeper problems in the organization instead?

To many the Lions problems began when William Clay Ford Sr. purchased the team.

For several years the teams seasons were so bad, that there were too many to count.

Players, coaches team presidents, and assistants were have come and gone from the Lions.

Although the Lions were in the playoffs a few times, they have never made it beyond the NFC Conference Championship.

The Lions even went 0 - 16 during the historic 2008 season. Many blamed Matt Millen who was team president at the time for the season. Even after Millen was fired, the team kept going downhill.

Finally after the historic season a new head coach, team president and general manager were named.

The Lions  got the first pick in the draft. The Lions chose Matthew Stafford as quarterback. The team even hired Super Bowl champion Jim Cauldwell as head coach.

Some improvements were made and the Lions reached the playoffs a couple of times.

Still the Lions couldn't win a playoff game. Even with all the changes made, can the Lions be a sucessful team or are we cursed by the football gods?

If I had all the answers why the Lions can't win, I'd be running the team. However I can only give my observations.

First: hire a better team president, team manager who has a background in football.

They should know what they are doing and have the winning record to prove it.

Second, hire coaches who have head coaching experiences and a winning record.

It take time to rebuild a time. You can't snap your fingers and make everything better.

Third, get good players. Detroit need good running backs and defensive players.

Fourth: The team has to act like a unit. Group dynamics, group cohesiveness plays a large part in the way a team operates. Good teams look after each other.

We can never go back to being a losing team again. 0 - 16 should never happen again. We fans are tired of having our playoff hopes dashed.

Let's hope the Lions can finally start winning games again.
