Another Steroid Confession, Yawn.

Here we go again. another athlete confesses to steroids use. Yawn!

This time time Mark McGwire the one time batting champ of the St. Louis Cardinals, confessed this week that he used steroids in the 90's. After several years of denying it and even testifying to Congress that he was clean, he is now admitting that he also used HGH (Human Growth Hormone).

Yes, I'm well aware that he is the hitting coach for the Cardinals, but why come clean now. What does he have to prove? That all will be forgiven, after he lied? What does this say to the athletes who are clean? What does this say to our youth who looked up to athletes role models? Should his records be erased? Should he be allowed in the Hall Of Fame?

Look I'm well aware that no one is a saint. I'm also well aware that after the baseball strike of 94, the single season home run race brought many back to the sport. But why was doping allowed in the first place?

If the MLB wants to keep the game stay clean, then they should do a better job of keeping steroids out of the game. Then maybe fans can enjoy the game played the way that it is supposed to be.

Athletes striving to be their best through hard work, not cheating.
